History Buff or Not: Franz Ferdinand Returns to Vienna

On March 29th, Franz Ferdinand returns to Vienna. This time, however, it’s not the Austrian archduke whose death once changed the course of history, but the Scottish rock band that shares his name.

Originally starting out in Glasgow in the early 2000s, playing illegal shows in empty warehouses, Franz Ferdinand has gained widespread popularity over the years, with over 10 million monthly listeners on Spotify currently. While the band has long been loved for songs like "Take Me Out" and "This Fire," their new album, The Human Fear, released in 2025, doesn’t disappoint either.

At Gasometer Vienna, the stage is set for Franz Ferdinand to bring their music alive for longtime fans and new listeners alike. While this band may not rewrite history the way their namesake did, their shows still have the potential to transform a single night and shape people's perception of the power of live music.

Usually you'll find me at a concert, somewhere between barricade and moshpit or of course behind my camera. I love not only documenting the energy on stage, but also capturing the little moments in between. Vienna based:)
