Heroes Festival 2025: The Rap Weekend in Freiburg

On the first weekend of September, Freiburg turns into rap city. On September 5 and 6, Heroes Festival takes over the Messegelände again, and if you’ve ever been, you know it’s where the whole German rap universe comes together for two days straight.
The line-up reads like a snapshot of the scene right now. Friday is filled with Bonez MC, Ski Aggu, and Ufo361, while names like $OHO BANI, Levin Liam, Makko, and Babyjoy bring fresh energy to the stage. Saturday switches it up with long-time legends like Sido, Bausa, and Pashanim, matched by newer forces like OG Keemo, Apsilon, and Chapo102. It’s that specific Heroes formula: old guard and new wave side by side, letting the crowd see the whole spectrum of what German rap sounds like in 2025.
Heroes is never just about who’s on stage but even more about the way the weekend feels. The site is big but easy to move through, everything runs cashless, and the Heroes app has your running order, playlists, and updates sorted. The atmosphere is what keeps people coming back: thousands of fans all in the same place.
Since it kicked off in 2017, Heroes has built itself into one of the key festivals for German hip-hop. The Freiburg stop has its own vibe, open-air, sweaty, a little chaotic in the best way, and 2025 is looking no different. Two days, two moods, and a line-up that says a lot about where the scene’s been and where it’s going.
And for anyone this might've convinced: yes, there are still last-minute tickets available!

For as long as I can remember, the question of belonging has lingered in the back of my mind. As a diaspora child, I carry the weight of leaving and the longing to find home in every place I go. So, I like to write about things that move me - music that lingers, films that haunt, words that stay long after the page is turned. I love to chase the moments that make me feel something.
