In summer 2024, Sabrina Carpenter dominated the charts in a heartbeat with her singles “Espresso” and “Please Please Please. Espresso became the anthem of the summer, with the catchy pop tune playing in every café or shop. These hits were followed by the release of her second “big-girl album Short n’ Sweet. The pop record explores Carpenters’ former love life with witty lyrics and a blend of musical genres from R&B and country to folk and disco. Truly an album with a tune for everyone on it.

Earlier this year, the pocket-sized singer captivated her fans with outstanding shows on her Short n’ Sweet Tour. Inspired by 60s live TV variety-shows she created a charming set up called “Short n’ Sweet TV”. Sabrina and her team put her whole heart into the show with not only her powerful vocals but also with cheeky one-liners and commercial breaks, which highlighted the superstar’s enticing personality and dry humour. Next to songs from her latest album like “Taste” and “Slim Pickins”, she also featured old favourites from Emails I can't Send like “Feathers” and “Tornado Warnings”. The setlist was a perfect mix of upbeat songs and heartfelt ballads that made the singers breathtaking vocals shine. With twenty shows across Europe, Sabrina graced the O2 Arena with two electrifying nights in London. It seems London can’t get enough of Sabrina, and the feeling is mutual.

Back in December it was announced that she will headline BST Hyde Park on July 5th. After selling out her initial night, a second consecutive night has been added due to popular demand. While we know that Sabrina will have the entire crowd dancing and singing along anticipation builds around to what extend she will bring back the “Short n’ Sweet TV” set or if attendees might get surprised with an entirely new setlist and concept.

Some wonderful female artists will join Sabrina who will undoubtedly enhance the whole BST experience. Singer-Songwriter Clairo will charm the crowd with her soft vocals and hits like “Sexy to Someone” and “Sofia”. British Singer-Songwriter Beabadoobee will showcase her heartfelt indie-folk sound with songs from her album This is How Tomorrow Moves. Olivia Dean will join with songs, which lean into soul and will make you feel as if you’re living in a 2000’s romcom. Name a better setting than London in Summer for this.

Espresso Summer will make a short and sweet comeback, at BST Hyde Park, an event you won’t want to miss. While the first night on July 5th is already sold out, tickets for the second night are still available!

I like to write about everything pop & fandom culture. Since it has been an integral part of my life for over 10 years I want to write about it for people to get an insight into something they might not understand. I‘d love to shed light onto the misogynistic view on fansgirls/boys. Sport fans and pop music fans are not as different.
