On February 17th, D4VD invited fans to an exclusive listening party in Berlin for his highly anticipated debut album, WITHERED. The album completes the story he began with his EPs Petals to Thorns and The Lost Petals, explores the emotional highs and lows of a relationship with raw honesty.

From the very beginning, D4VD’s personality captivated the audience. He came across as genuinely humble and refreshingly authentic, connecting effortlessly with everyone in the room. His humor and down-to-earth character made the intimate setting feel even more personal. It was easy to forget that we were in the presence of one of the most exciting new voices in music today.

A particularly charming moment occurred when his mom called in the middle of the session.

He laughed and said, Thank you Mom and Dad for putting me onto Mozart.” In fact, classical music played a significant role in his upbringing, along with piano lessons he tookas a child. These influences blend seamlessly into his new songs, merging modern beats with melancholic melodies to create his distinctive sound.

As the evening progressed, D4VD offered a deeper look into his creative journey. One of the most captivating aspects was his explanation of the alter ego that weaves through his songs.

Even as a child, he was remarkably creative, writing his own animes long before he ever thought about singing. His favorite anime, "Attack on Titan", not only fueled his imagination but also shaped the dark, cinematic elements of his music.

He then revealed how video games, especially Fortnite, played a pivotal role in his musical journey. Initially, he wanted to create soundtracks for his gameplay videos, which led him to start producing music alone in his sister’s closet, using nothing but an iPhone and Bandlab. Even though he now records in professional studios, WITHERED still carries the raw, intimate energy of those early days.

As the tension built, D4VD shared some of the most emotional tracks from the album. One of the standout moments was a song where he crafted an entire choir using only his own voice. This layered vocal harmony created an almost sacred atmosphere, showcasing his creativity and willingness to experiment.

It became clear just how much D4VD has evolved as an artist. As someone who has followed his journey for a long time, it’s incredible to see his growth. The passion and energy he puts into his music are palpable, and his lyrics are deeply personal and beautifully crafted. His vocal range is simply outstanding, effortlessly conveying the emotions behind each word. Witnessing his evolution and how far he’s come is truly inspiring.

Just when the evening seemed to reach its peak, D4VD surprised the crowd with a live performance. The energy in the room shifted as he picked up the mic and sang his latest single, One More Dance, from the upcoming album. The intimacy of the listening session was amplified as his powerful vocals filled the room.

He closed the night with his most famous hit, Here With Me, leaving the crowd in complete agony, hanging on to every note. The atmosphere was electric, and the connection between D4VD and his fans was undeniable. It was a powerful reminder of his magnetic presence as an artist.

WITHERED is an album meant to be listened to sequentially – like chapters of a cohesive story. In Berlin, D4VD proved that he’s not only a talented singer but also a visionary storyteller who continues to push boundaries and captivate audiences with his authenticity and creativity.

WITHERED will be out on the 25th of April, 2025 - be sure to check it out!
