Waiting for Summer

The three-part photo series portrays the wait for the long-awaited summer in a defiant and humorous way, capturing a quiet sense of impatience. It’s a small anecdote about how we try to shape nature to our needs, even when it clearly has its own rules.

There is a desire to feel the sun on one’s skin again, to stretch out on green meadows surrounded by trees, to simply be outside without hesitation. Out of defiance because the waiting becomes unbearable we step outdoors and protest against the cold. We sit in the garden like in a waiting room, suspended in time, waiting for someone to finally declare that summer has arrived.

As the waiting drags on, we grab a broom in protest. It is cold. Very cold. Still, we are there, stubborn and persistent, tidying up a season that refuses to leave. In the end, we have to admit that we cannot clear all the snow. And even if we could, it would most likely fall again tomorrow.

In the end, we simply choose to enjoy winter’s quiet until summer arrives.
