New Year’s resolutions are out, and New Year’s bingo is in
New Year’s: The end of the year when everyone gets ready to embark on a new journey for the year to follow. The day is filled with hope for fresh starts, second chances, and new opportunities. To make everything of desire possible, most people have New Year’s resolutions. A list of things one wants to achieve in the following year to make someone’s life easier, better and more fun. Perhaps it is to finally quit the job that has been draining you, to start a healthier lifestyle or to stop being a people pleaser. Whatever it is, the New Year is the best starting point to change your habits and start with a clean slate.
As great as this is I have come across another form of making your resolutions more fun and possibly easier to accomplish. A New Year’s bingo card. It is a bingo card, but all the little boxes are filled with all the goals you want to achieve over the year. It could include everything – big or small goals, whatever you want to accomplish for the year. Travel to a new place, graduate, or do one act out of kindness every day.
When you reach one goal you cross it off. There is something satisfying about crossing something off and potentially even getting a BINGO which keeps the motivation going. To make it even more exciting, there is the option to set certain rewards when you complete a BINGO. Another perk of this bingo card over a list is, that you can get a bingo by “only” achieving five goals and it is less stressful than seeing a list where all goals are just there.
It is easy to make it as well. Surely, you can make it the old-fashioned way by getting a sheet of paper and just putting it on there. You can also go on Canva and search for a “bingo card” template and find cute designs you can customize. You can also add pictures to visualize the goals. I also saw someone who said they took a Polaroid of all their achieved goals and pinned it to the bingo card. There are probably a million ways to customize it, but you get the gist.
Sit down, think about the goals you want to achieve put them down into the bingo card.
