Ellas: How Female Leadership Saves Women Lives

Where does our inner child go when we grow up? That little, naïve voice that makes our hearts pound and lets us dream big? And what happens if we find a space where we can rediscover our inner voice and let our desires, strengths, and needs fill the room? This summer, I had the opportunity to be part of such a space at a local NGO supporting survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in San Ramón, Costa Rica. In my piece, I talk about this impactful experience, what it taught me about female leadership, and why we should embrace it more as a society.
