Winter Isolation

This series explores the isolation many people experience during the winter months. We often approach winter in the same way as summer. We expect an active, social, and somewhat romanticized life. But winter has its own rhythm. It brings slowness and quiet, a natural pulling inward. When reality doesn't match our expectations for winter, we may feel this dissonance. We feel cornered, locked inside our houses and inside ourselves.

These photographs illustrate what that isolation can feel like: the weight of it, the way it blurs time and sense of self. I tried capturing that restless, submerged feeling - when solitude stops being a choice and starts feeling like something we can't escape.
