From the very beginning, the Australian sibling duo Angus & Julia Stone transported the audience into another universe as they took the stage at Berlin’s Astra Kulturhaus on Wednesday, July 8, 2026. Behind them, a backdrop of shimmering lights resembled a star-filled sky, setting the mood for the evening.

For 20 years, Angus and Julia Stone have been making records together, and their connection was evident throughout the show. Their voices blended beautifully, creating the signature harmonies that have defined their music for two decades. Their sound, which can be described as a mix of indie pop with a twist of country, filled the venue from start to finish.

As they explained, the setlist included some old songs, some in between, and some new songs, including their recent single "Monroe". One of the evening’s standout moments came during "Nothing Else", where Julia picked up a trumpet, and suddenly it felt like the audience had been transported into a cozy jazz bar. The siblings switched between instruments throughout the night, with guitars, a trumpet, and a tambourine all making an appearance.

"Yellow Brick Road" was also part of the setlist. A fun fact about the song, which Julia tells the crowd, is that its title is tattooed on Julia’s foot in Angus’ handwriting. During the performance, rainbow-colored lights appeared behind the duo. Whether this was a clever reference to “Over the Rainbow”, making it a subtle Wizard of Oz Easter egg, or simply a funny coincidence, is open to interpretation.

Another highlight was "Grizzly Bear", which included excerpts from Fleetwood Mac’s "Dreams". Berlin was also treated to something very special. Angus performed "Just a Boy", a song he hadn’t played in 12 years, even though, as Julia joked, she had been asking him to play it every night.

The duo also performed a cover of Sam Smith’s "Stay With Me". The song has its own connection to Berlin, as a live version was recorded in the city several years ago. The emotional highlight of the evening was "Big Jet Plane". As soon as the song began, the audience sang along. Tears rolled down the faces of a few fans as they shared a beautiful moment with the band.
