Benson Boone Brings the Wanted Man Tour to the Lone Star State!
Not even the Texas heat could keep fans away from the Frost Bank Center, where more than 19,000 people packed the arena for the night. From young fans attending with their families to teenagers and longtime music lovers, the crowd was a mix of generations, all there for one reason: to spend an evening with Benson Boone.
From the moment Boone stepped onto the stage, he made it clear this wouldn’t be a show spent standing behind a microphone. Opening the night with “Sorry I’m Here For Someone Else”, he immediately launched into the kind of high-energy performance fans have come to expect, with his signature backflip.
Throughout the evening, Benson seemed to use every inch of the stage. He raced from one side to the other, made his way down the catwalk, and took every opportunity to connect with the fans surrounding him. His energy was infectious, and the audience matched it song for song. From the floor to the very top of the arena, the Frost Bank Center transformed into one massive sing-along throughout the evening.
There was something almost magical about watching thousands of voices come together at once. One moment, the arena was roaring; the next, it was illuminated by phone lights as fans sang along to some of Boone’s biggest songs.
And, of course, there were backflips. Lots of backflips.
Benson also took time between songs to talk with the crowd and soak in the San Antonio atmosphere, even stopping at one point to joke about the Texas heat. With temperatures hovering around a very cool 102 degrees that evening, he had plenty of material to work with. But underneath all the crowd interactions and gravity-defying moments was the reason Boone can command an arena of more than 19,000 people in the first place: his voice.
The Wanted Man Tour gave him plenty of opportunities to show it off. Benson moved effortlessly between huge, arena-filling vocals and quieter moments that let the songs take center stage, proving that the spectacle never has to come at the expense of the music.
By the time the opening notes of “Beautiful Things” arrived to close out the night, the crowd had one final chance to give Boone everything they had left. Thousands of voices filled the arena for one last sing-along, bringing an already electric night to an end.
San Antonio showed up for Benson Boone, and judging by the smile on his face throughout the night, he seemed just as happy to be there.
The Wanted Man Tour is big and unapologetically fun, packed with powerhouse vocals, nonstop movement, crowd interaction, and enough backflips to make you wonder how he still has the breath to sing.
If the Wanted Man Tour is headed to a city near you, consider this your sign to go, and maybe stretch first. Just watching all those backflips is exhausting.
