Saturday, 21.06.2025 – Stollwerck Bürgerhaus, Cologne

Sombr made it possible to romanticize this night, even though it was over 30 degrees and a sold-out show in an upgraded venue.
This was the final stop of his first headline run across Europe:
The Late Nights & Young Romance Tour.
And Cologne got the ending it deserved.

Florence Road: From Ireland to Cologne— And Straight Into Our Hearts

Starting the night off was the Irish band Florence Road, and the vibe was instantly there.
Imagine rocky sounds, two guitars, one bass, and drums, and the crowd started dancing as soon as the first note hit. It was a promising start to what would become an unforgettable night. After each song, loud applause filled the venue, a clear sign that Florence Road had already won the room.

But it wasn’t all high energy. Between the fiery riffs and driving beats, the band shifted into more melancholic territory—gloomier songs accompanied by moody purple lighting, transforming the venue into a cinematic echo of rainy Irish weather. With the lead and second vocals at the center, gradually layered by guitar and bass, this quieter section contrasted with their rocky opener but was just as captivating. This band knows how to build a set and hold a crowd.

“It is very warm in Cologne,” lead singer Lily Aron said, laughing. It was the band’s first time in the city, and she hadn’t expected the heat, which explained the long jeans. After a quick breath, she leaned back into the mic and added: “Keep fanning yourself and do shout if you need water.”

Then came their most popular song, Heavy, sending waves of energy through the crowd. “How are we doing, Cologne?” guitarist Emma Brandon shouted into the mic, met with enthusiastic cheers. The band grinned back, fully soaking in the moment.

“We released our EP yesterday!” she beamed, earning even more noise from the crowd.
“This next song we’re playing is 'Break the Girl', and it’s unreleased.”

The excitement built up. Emma smiled, hinting that it might be dropping soon. It was definitely one of the highlights of their set. Before the chorus hit, Lily stepped forward with a bright grin.
“I need you to sing this part with me. Are you ready?”

She launched into a playful chant: “Lalalalala.”
The crowd instantly echoed it back.
“Sing it louder!”
"Lalalalala!" They responded, louder now, voices rising with the beat.
“Keep it going!” Lily encouraged them, and they did.

While the band carried the melody, the audience kept the lalalas going, turning the room into a harmony of voices. It felt like one of those rare live moments where everything clicks—band and crowd completely in sync.

Before their final song, the band took a moment to thank Sombr and his team, sharing how surreal it felt to play in Europe for the first time.

Then came the closer: Goodnight. “We hope everyone will have a good night,” Lily said softly, a perfect send-off. And the lights—wow. The venue turned into a sea of white flashlights, creating a magical glow. The band began clapping, and soon the entire room followed—everyone dancing, celebrating, totally in it together.

This band will be big in no time, and we’re already fans.

Sombr – The Man of the Hour

Shortly past 8 PM, the man of the night walked onto the stage, met with warm applause and loud cheers before even playing a single note. He opened his set with makes me want you, instantly setting the tone. The energy was there from the start. The crowd and Sombr sang every lyric together, a room full of people completely locked in.

Early on, he noticed someone struggling in the crowd. Mid-song, he pointed and said, “Water over there.” When nothing happened, he addressed the venue directly:
“C’mon, venue. Do your job.”
Then he did it himself, coming down mid-song to hand a fan water. That moment said everything about the kind of artist Sombr is— present, thoughtful, and unafraid to step in.

“Give it up for Sal on the guitar, everybody,” he shouted, giving his bandmate his well-earned moment. Later, he stopped the show, scanning the crowd with care.
“Everyone good?” he asked. He waited for the answer. “Make sure to drink water—make sure everyone’s okay.” He didn’t rush. He looked around, taking a few more seconds just to be sure before continuing.

The mood then shifted into something softer. With guitar in hand, he played burner phone, and the crowd swayed gently with him. A quiet, almost intimate moment.

"You're my Savior": A Venue Full of Paper Hearts and Special Moments

Next came savior, and from the very first harmonized note, his vocals shone. But the crowd had a surprise. During the chorus, they raised paper hearts that read “you’re our savior.” Sombr paused, visibly moved.
“Guys, you’re gonna make me cry,” he said with a bright smile. “Thank you. It’s beautiful.”
And as he looked up again, realizing the entire venue, from the very front to the balconies, was holding up the hearts, he laughed in disbelief.
“How do you all have it?” he asked, astonished, waving at fans in the balconies.
Then, softly, “You’re my savior,” he said back.

That was just one of the many moments that showed his appreciation.
“Thank you for being here,” he said later. “It means the world. I love you guys.”
He reflected on how surreal it felt that, despite language barriers, his music could bring so many people together. Music truly transcends, and Sombr gets that.

At one point, grinning, he said:
“This is a special show day because…”
He paused, building anticipation, before laughing into the mic:
“Fuck—I forgot it.”
The crowd roared with laughter, but the energy only grew.
“We’re singing this next song for the first time since it was released,” he continued, now back on track. And the moment everyone recognized we never dated, the crowd exploded.
From the first note to the last, they sang every word. One day was all it took for the lyrics to live in their heads—and hearts. It made the moment even more special.

I’ll remember tonight, followed, and it wasn’t just a title.
“I’ll definitely remember tonight,” he said. “Thank you so much for the first headline show in Germany. I love you. You’re the best.”

Love is all around us: "Happy Pride Month!"

And just when the crowd thought the emotions had peaked, Sombr asked:
“Is there a Pauline here tonight?”
He searched the audience. People pointed. He grinned.
“Mel has a question for you.” He handed them the mic. The entire room held its breath.

“Would you like to be my girlfriend?”
A second of stunned silence, then the room erupted in joyful cheers. Sombr grinned from ear to ear.
“Happy Pride Month!” he shouted into the mic, greeted with more cheers.

He dedicated would've been you to Pauline and Mel, and it was one of the night’s most heartwarming moments.

Cowboy hats, Signs, and Long Looks

If there's one thing Sombr masters as much as music, it's connection. From the moment he stepped on stage, he was all in, checking in with the crowd, complimenting fans, reading signs, receiving gifts. He even put on a black cowboy hat with a “feminist” label handed to him mid-set, proudly wearing it.

He saw a sign in the front row requesting a staring contest and didn’t hesitate.
“Count us in!” he told the crowd.
We all counted, “One, two, three…”, until we reached sixteen. Then Sombr shouted, “You blinked!”

The fan must’ve denied it, because he quickly added, “No, you did!” and then, after a playful pause, “But I still love you.”

Before the final song, he took one last moment to thank everyone.
“I’ll be back soon.
You guys changed my life.
I love you.”

He closed with his most popular track, back to friends, which has been streamed over 366 million times on Spotify. The numbers didn’t lie. The crowd knew every word, their voices nearly louder than his own.

“Thank you so much,” he said again, taking the time to shout out his bandmates one last time before walking offstage.

From the Stage to the Crowd: A Final Connection

But Cologne wasn’t done.
“ONE MORE SONG,” the chant rang out as loud as the night would allow.

And Sombr heard us.

He and the band returned for an encore, playing undressed—wild, loud, everything an encore should be. At one point, he caught a bra thrown from the crowd, threw it around his neck, and declared, “You’re crazy for this one.”

Then:
“JUMP!”
And we did.

He didn’t stop there—mid-song, he climbed over the barricade and joined the crowd, jumping with them, singing the chorus shoulder to shoulder with fans. One final explosion of connection, chaos, and joy.

A Headline Show Worthy of a Star

One thing is certain: Sombr is an all-rounder.
He doesn’t just perform—he creates moments. He’s got insane stage presence, knows how to entertain, and remains genuine, kind, and deeply grateful throughout. If you ever get the chance to see him live, take it. He’s more than just a viral sensation. He’s a phenomenal artist and performer, and nights like this are proof.
