At just 20 years of age, Jassin has made a name for himself within a year with socially critical lyrics, acclaimed live shows and features with big names such as Trettmann and Disarstar.

Jassin, a rapper and singer from Saxony-Anhalt, gained widespread attention in the spring of 2024 through his TikTok and Instagram videos. In his songs, he tackles topics such as racism and social issues, which has earned him a steadily growing fan base.

With his EP "Kinder können fies sein" (Children can be mean) and songs like "Bitte sei vorsichtig"(Please be careful), Jassin has already proven that he combines lyrical sensitivity with sharp social criticism. Jassin has also made a name for himself as a live performer: after supporting shows for RIN, Schmyt, Paula Hartmann, Trettmann, Apsilon, ENNIO and $oho Bani, he played his first completely sold-out "KKFS" Tour in April 2025. Now he is about to embark on his next big chapter: combining and developing his skills on an album-length project.

The single of the same name, "Arsenalplatz", has already been released before and paints a vivid picture between youth and the present, full of anger and honesty, but also with a spark of hope. The new album contains 12 songs. Jassin's music moves stylistically between hip-hop/rap, indie, pop and electronic elements – with an atmosphere that is both melancholic, emotional and honest.

The album Arsenalplatz tells stories of youth, origins, home, identity and self-discovery – particularly from the perspective of Jassin, who grew up in the small East German town of Lutherstadt Wittenberg in Saxony-Anhalt. At the same time, there are moments of alienation, anger, shame and longing – the artist processes personal experiences, social and societal issues, but also hope. Jassin is thus considered a voice for an entire generation, with themes such as origin (and the problems associated with it), self-discovery and belonging.

The first track, "Alles was ich weiß" (Everything I Know), provides an honest and thoughtful introduction to Jassin's album, featuring a moderate groove. The track "Dazwischen" (In Between) points to a feeling of ‘being in between something’ – questions of identity are addressed – in keeping with the overall concept of the album about origin and self-discovery. One of the best-known tracks before the album's release, "Bitte sei vorsichtig" (Please Be Careful), addresses vulnerability, insecurity and emotional fragility. For many listeners, the song serves as a social outlet, especially for young people. The title track and conscious statement: "Arsenalplatz" between youth and the present, with questions about identity, self-image, psychological burdens, from calm synths to turbulent emotions. One of my favourite tracks on the album.

"Wieder zurück"(Back Again) feat. Edwin Rosen is the perfect track for a walk through the wet asphalt mist: nostalgic, melancholic, gentle and solemn. The song is about finding your way back, remembering and the feeling of being neither completely gone nor completely arrived. Personally, I really like the track; it fits the current season and mood very well and certainly speaks to many people at the moment. For me, the song perfectly reflects the main theme of the album: origins, looking back, self-discovery and the attempt to find inner peace – without simply giving up everything.

Romantic, with references to youth and memories, the track "Simson S51" follows – the song conveys a warm feeling of summer, freedom and lightness. Thematically combative and motivating, Jassin sounds in his track "Aufstehen" (Get Up) and sings about breakthroughs, new beginnings and overcoming obstacles. It fits into the picture of personal development and self-reflection, simply the vibe of this album.

The tracks "Sonnenbankflavour", "Dein Herz" and "Ohne Regen keine Blumen" deliver a full dose of emotion, just put on your headphones and close your eyes. Live, I can see the performances of these tracks bathed in a sea of bobbing mobile phone lights and people singing along to every word with feeling and authenticity.

"Wann trennt ihr euch" (When Do You Break Up) is about Jassin's parents' relationship, a possible separation and inner conflicts. The song helps to come to terms with his personal story, but perhaps also with one's own. As a quiet, honest conclusion to the album, "Wie immer ist" (As Always) is open, reflective and dreamy.

From the beginning of December 2025, Jassin will embark on a tour to promote his new album, also titled "Jassin". Almost all tour dates are already sold out, but there are still tickets available in Stuttgart. Better be fast and don't miss out!

Writing, for me, is more than just words on a page. It's a bridge between minds. I write to share stories and topics that deserve to be seen, especially those that speak to the heart of community, culture and music. I believe in the power of words to raise awareness, to bring light to what’s overlooked, to start conversations that matter. In a world full of noise, writing lets me slow down. Through writing, I reach out - to inform, to interact, to invite others into reflection. It’s how I contribute to visibility and understanding.
