The New Album "Everybody Scream" by Florence + the Machine: OUT NOW!
My 15-year-old dreamy self comes to my mind when I hear these special songs. The version of me back then listened to loud music on her headphones so that no one could hear her except herself. Just letting it all out, lip-syncing the lyrics and feeling something big. Racing across the cornfield or through the forest on my bike, singing along loudly and feeling free in a world that couldn't really be any more broken. When I talk about this kind of music, there is only one artist for me who gives me exactly this feeling, both then and now: Florence + The Machine. The voice and songs of Florence + The Machine have been with me since I was a teenager, and they never leave my side – and that's a good thing.
I strongly believe that Florence's 2009 album "Lungs" will be one of my all-time favourites, with its complete album tracklist. Every single song, the different vibes and moods, the mystical world that Florence + The Machine magically transports you to, while at the same time managing to give you a feeling of your soul being embraced, which you need so much right now, and perhaps. From the song "Dog Days Are Over", which simply radiates joy and gives you confidence, to songs like "Rabbit Heart" or "Cosmic Love", which transport you to musical-cosmic spheres with harp sounds, driving indie beats mixed with playful elements, and the incomparable voice of singer Florence Welch. Last but not least, of course, the cover version of "You've Got The Love" by Florence + The Machine must not go unmentioned: a true evergreen that will hopefully survive another 1000 years and more and hopefully touch people as much as it touches me every single time I hear it – whether on my headphones or anywhere else.
Two years later, Florence + The Machine released their second album, "Ceremonials" (2011). The following songs will always stay with me and constantly stir emotions in me, as I associate both positive and negative memories with them. But let's start with the songs I associate with positive feelings, such as "Shake It Out" or "Spectrum", which simply spread joie de vivre, confidence, and hope. With "Shake It Out", you should really just let go and laugh at life, aka the endless rollercoaster ride – the song "Spectrum" makes me feel strong and invincible as Florence Welch's powerful, penetrating voice booms in my ears.
The mystical song "What The Water Gave Me" and the melancholic song "Breaking Down", on the other hand, have accompanied me through rather sad, bittersweet, or even painful moments in my life. Despite heartbreak, loss, or major changes, the music of Florence + The Machine always manages to catch me like a net, enveloping me and my emotions and thoughts in a warm blanket.
This was followed by three more albums between 2015 and 2022: "How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful" (2015), "High As Hope" (2018), and "Dance Fever" (2022). The 2015 album creates energetic, orchestral, and cathartic vibes. On "High As Hope" from 2018, the mood is more intimate, introspective, and minimalistic. Florence sounds more reflective and vulnerable here – the vibes are thoughtful, quiet, and sincere. This was followed in 2022 by the album "Dance Fever", which is euphoric, mystical, and danceable, but still with a dark undertone.
Now Florence + The Machine are returning on 31 October 2025 with their new album "Everybody Scream" – deliberately timed to coincide with Halloween, which is celebrated in the USA and some European countries – a well-chosen stylistic statement, considering the vibes and moods on the new twelve-track album. Musically, it can be classified as ritual pop, characterized by a lot of love, noise, screams, and witchcraft. From delicate, intimate moments to opulent, even occult outbursts, realised through drums, vocals, and mystical lyrics, the Florence vibes that I and all of us know so well emerge.
Magical and mystical, "Witch Dance", "The Old Religion," and "Sympathy Magic" conjure up powerful images of rituals, femininity, and ancient beliefs. The title "Everybody Scream" suggests collective release and screaming as an expression - not only of pain, but also as pure eruption. Power and intimacy alternate: some songs are louder and theatrical, such as "Perfume and Milk", while others are quieter and almost acoustic, such as "Buckle". It's a return to drama – but now with baroque energy, ritual vibes, and indie-witchy flair. The album was created after the COVID-19 pandemic, and you can feel the desire for movement, life, and ecstasy. The album evokes vibes of witchcraft, catharsis, ecstasy, and mythological energy. How fitting that Florence + The Machine's new album "Everybody Scream" is being released today – be sure to give it a listen, it's worth it!

Writing, for me, is more than just words on a page. It's a bridge between minds. I write to share stories and topics that deserve to be seen, especially those that speak to the heart of community, culture and music. I believe in the power of words to raise awareness, to bring light to what’s overlooked, to start conversations that matter. In a world full of noise, writing lets me slow down. Through writing, I reach out - to inform, to interact, to invite others into reflection. It’s how I contribute to visibility and understanding.
