Charlotte OC Live in Berlin: "This City Means So Much to Me"
What seemed to be in the middle of a Christmas market, at Maschinenhaus in Berlin, Charlotte OC put on the last show of her mini tour on Thursday, December 4th, 2025.
Earlier this year, the British singer-songwriter sat down with us to discuss everything from overcoming obstacles to reigniting her love for making music. You can read the interview here.
The intimate night was kicked off by Lavine, a musical duo from Denmark. Entering the stage with an eye-catching glittery guitar, Emma and Rasmus created a calm and dreamy atmosphere with songs such as “Wanna Know You” or “Heat is a Warning”.
After a brief stage change, it was time for Charlotte OC. The lights dimmed and it was go time. “Bathtub Friday, I’ll tell you the truth. I’m touching myself, I’m not thinking of you”: the first song of the night was “Cider & Black” from her latest EP, Seriously Love, Go Home. Delivering some impressive vocal runs, she proved her talent right from the start.
Between her songs, she kept telling small anecdotes and stories about her life as well as about the songs she was performing. While introducing her love song “Strange Influence”, she told the crowd how this song is actually about her dog and how she could never write a song like that about a man.
Before playing “God, We Tried”, she recalled feeling lost for a long period of time after her father had passed away. During this period, she was put off music and stopped listening to her demos (something she used to do excessively before). One day in London, she took psychedelic mushrooms for the first time, which sparked something within her and inspired her to start making music again, which is when “God, We Tried” came to life.
This story is similar to Shawn Mendes', who almost had the exact same experience last year: while feeling lost, he took mushrooms for the first time to gain new perspectives on life. It did gain him a dig from Sabrina Carpenter, though: “I promise the mushrooms aren’t changing your life”. With Charlotte confirming it also helped her, maybe Sabrina needs to rethink her statement.
Her love for Berlin was impossible to overlook or overhear that night: throughout the evening, she mentioned how Berlin was “her favorite city of all time” and how some of her songs were even inspired by the city.
Charlotte also got emotional. She recounted how yesterday’s show in Hamburg had been especially hard for her, as it was also her late father’s birthday, explaining why she had been holding back tears all night. To celebrate what would have been his 80th birthday, she delivered a moving performance of her unreleased song “20th Century Photo” from her upcoming project.
After her hour-long set, she met up with fans at the merch stand, giving people the chance for a chat, a quick selfie or to grab a signed vinyl before following her own advice: 'Honestly Love, Go Home', to rest and reflect on her year.
While nothing has been confirmed or teased yet, make sure you don’t miss your chance to catch Charlotte OC live the next time she is on stage!

(Live) music is one of my biggest passions, which is why I enjoy exploring pop culture in my writings. From analyzing albums to reviewing concerts. I'm especially interested in fandom culture, which often comes through in my work.

I love capturing real, unfiltered moments. There's something so special to the energy of live concerts and events. My approach is all about connection, no stiff poses, just genuine stories told through light, movement, and mood.
