Upcoming Festival "Maifeld Derby" enters its last rodeo

German Festival Maifeld Derby enters its 14th and last rodeo at the Maimarkt in Mannheim. From the 30th of May to the 1st of June, 2025, the festival, which is known for its alternative charm and awarded as „Best Small Festival in Europe“ by the European Festival Awards, opens its doors sadly for the last time as financing issues arose, as festival founder Timo Kumpf recently stated.
Every year, the festival lineup brings a great mix of newcomers and smaller yet well-known musicians. This did not differ this year. Most of its lineup and timetable are already announced, so you can see if your favorite is on the full weekend schedule. Listeners of alternative and indie music will find new and previously known artists on the stages of Maifeld Derby. This year, our favorites were headliner Franz Ferdinand and Bilderbuch; however, newcomer band Zimmer90, singer Elaj or singer Drangsal are just some of the various great artists that can be found on this year's lineup. Fans of the Maifeld Derby know it is a place where one will bring home new music to listen to afterwards, as the lineup gives chances to smaller, yet no less talented artists. Other than music, festival attendees can experience various food and other culture programs.

Although the 1 and 2 pricing stage is sold out, there are still some tickets left if you don't want to miss out on this beautiful start of the festival season. You can find various tickets, such as camping, day tickets, or for the whole weekend, all with reasonable pricing. Check out their tickets here to be part of this last rodeo at Mannheim's Maimarkt.
As it is one of our local and smaller festivals around Germany that we cherish, we are sad to see the Maifeld Derby take its last ride, yet we are sure it will be one that won't be forgotten and cherished by those in attendance - the great lineup and fun setup will make sure of it.
