German indie singer SOFFIE opened her second headline tour this Wednesday at Stuttgart's event location Im Wizemann. With 13 nights, the "Unterwegs-Tour" stops all over Germany and for some evenings in Austria. The newcomer stormed many playlists with her hit "Für immer Frühling" last year. Today, she released her new EP called "Unterwegs," which delivers six new songs, some of which the Stuttgart audience heard exclusively for the first time before its release.

But before the main act came on stage, pre-act Maiva and her guitarist Toby entered the stage with a fun intro song mixed of childhood TV classics; something that set the mood right for her explosive stage presence. Her first song, "Was darf's denn sein" brought a sassy and catchy repetition of various versions of what her date wants with a chorus that makes you want to repeat it again.

Her third and unreleased track talked all about the many annoying tips for mental health that one gets yet doesn't need. I especially enjoyed the clever hook where she sang the line Therapists hate this Trick and the powerful guitar solo that added the right sound - let's hope this one comes out soon for you to enjoy as well. After a few slower songs where the crowd had the chance to participate with her introductions how to sing along, she performed her new emotional song "Belügst dich selbst", which was not only well arranged musically, but one that was stuck in my head afterwards. The theme of running away from one's feelings is one that the audience could clearly relate to as they moved along with the music. I especially enjoyed the overall theme, the chorus and the vocal repetition at the song's end. The last song, "Rakete" is about to come out and was my favorite of hers of the night. It had amazing vocals, groovy beats and fun (and cunty) lyricism - reoccuring themes and sound that could be found in all of her performance that day.

Interestingly, this was her first concert with all-German songs; she previously released a lot of music in English, yet this is something the audience wouldn't have known, as she confidently delivered those unreleased german songs.

Once mainact SOFFIE came on stage through the crowd, one could feel that she and her fans were excited about the start of the new tour and her first concert after her break from the last tour. The crowd sang along with her first song "Bevor du gehst" and SOFFIE jumped around the stage - all while singing in a stable and powerful voice. Her new and second song "Jana" turned out to be one of the crowd favorites right at the start. The guitar beat mixed with her beautiful voice changes brought the chorus to life. The lyrical part where she sings "Wenn die Sonne untergeht (when the sun goes down)" was really catchy and enjoyable. This was followed by "Zu viel/nicht genug" and I loved the chorus where she sings "Ist das Nikotin oder bist das nur du? Rauch' ich wirklich zu viel oder noch nicht genug?". Her voice mixed with the fun beat made me want to dance. She also sang "Cool", a jazzy song with singer Haller, in a solo version and got the crowd to help with a 'Hey Ho' in the chorus.

The mood switched with her emotional song "Seifenspender". A song all about exes and feeling sorry and reminiscent. Her live version was proof of her vocal range as she sung it with many emotions in her voice. The mood persisted, however the next song was a surprise to me as it was one of her older songs called "Heute Sterben". It was my favorite of the night as her live version of it had a ethereal feeling to it - she stood there with her guitar and looped her beautiful voice in various tones. Once the chorus hit, the power of her voice gave me shiffers and the switch between english and german lyrics fit well to the dramatics of the song. The theme of english in her songs continued to the next song "The Puppeteer" - another one that focused on her slow and ethereal voice. The lyrical theme of oppresion was clear and well written. It was enjoyable that she remarked that all members of her band got to play the bass during her set, for this one even her drummer got to play the bass. The long wooos afterwards showed that the audience seemed to love it. I was deeply impressed by her English songs, as she is mainly known for her german indie music, I later got to know that these songs were first released under the name HASSLA.

"Die da oben" was in a clever way system-critical, it brought a change of pace and energy. This energy high continued quite literally in her song titled "Energie" which made the whole crowd to dance and sing loudly. Her live premiere of her new song "Schalt mich an" was received well by her fans. It was carried by a powerful drum beat that fit well with her stable and changing tones in her voice. A song of her new EP that the crowd and I highly enjoyed and I'm sure will find many fans.

In between, SOFFIE talked about how she processes her stormy feelings and dark phases through music. This was seen in the next song "Poltergeist" as it had moving lyrics and the overall setting in the room seemed intimate and full of emotions. It was another exclusive sneak peek in her new EP, therefore her fans seemed in awe by the new and promising music. The EP is titled after song "Unterwegs" which followed and was all about her new beginning as she is on the way to hopeful and bright future.

For the next song SOFFIE made the crowd dance along with her in a taught choreography - it worked better than I previously expected and the crowd was very respectful of everyones space. The crowd interaction was kept for the following song "Rosenkohl" where everyone squatted down on her command. Generally, this song had an insane guitarsolo, a lot of energy and one of the best vibes of the show. The Band left the stage after that, however they came back fast and delivered three more songs for the encore. While the thirteenth song was slower, the somewhat theatralical surprise cover of "Oh Johnny" that followed brought a lot of excitement to the room when people started dancing and singing loudly.

The show closed by her most viral song "Für immer Frühling". This song was not only the clear fan favorite as everyone practically screamed the lyrics, but it also was an unexpected event for the newcomer as her team surprised her on stage with a golden record for the song. An emotional and exciting moment for her to share with her fans. You could feel the energy and joy of all during her live version of the song.
