The anniversary edition of "Rock am Ring" & "Rock im Park" promises powerful lineup!

Two of the biggest German and European Rock Festivals, "Rock am Ring" (RAR) & "Rock im Park" (RIP), celebrate their anniversaries this summer. With RAR turning 40 and RIP existing for 30 years, the line-up promises a festival weekend to remember! As is tradition, the twinning festivals have the same line-up and will be on the same June weekend (6–8th June 2025). As the name reveals, Rock am Ring will be located at the famous Nürburgring in the German Eifel, whereas, Rock im Park is located at the Zeppelinfeld in Nuremberg. As this anniversary edition comes ever closer, fans anticipate not only the great lineup but the overall event as the weekend, camping included, is one of tradition. With many fans of different generations coming back year after year, RAR and RIP have sold together over 140.000 weekend tickets already.
With 90 of the 100 lineups already announced, the festivals will have an additional fourth stage and a few more surprise acts coming; however, the lineup is VERY promising for all fans of rock, alternative, and metal. The online crowd was very happy about the icon Slipknot or the nu-metal band KoRn; however, once the fan-favorite British Metalcore band Bring Me the Horizon announced that their biggest and only concert in the European mainland would be at those two festivals, it was definitely one of many highlights from the lineup. Another favorite of mine in the lineup is the British progressive metalcore band Sleep Token, which will also play their only concert in Germany this year at RAR & RIP. Just last week, Sleep Token dropped release hints for a possible new album, which festivalgoers hopefully will be hearing live at the grand finale of the festival. The other headliners such as Rise Against, Falling in Reverse, K.I.Z., The Prodigy and KoRn leave nothing left to wish for fans of the genre.

Generally, the lineup does not only include rock; it holds a range of Alternative and Hip-Hop artists, which will bring a great spirit and variety to the festivals. Artists like Indie-rock cult band Weezer, as well as German Indie-Rock/Pop artist Drangsal, will surely deliver some soft rock sounds to the harder sounds of the headliners. Both genres are highly anticipated as the festivals are known for their collab of diverse genres in the rock and alternative scene. This top-notch lineup doesn't end there; Bullet For My Valentine, Lorna Shore, Powerwolf, Feine Sahne Fischfilet, Poppy, Beatsteaks, In Flames and Heaven Shall Burn are just some of the high-profile musicians festival goers can anticipate.
The Grand Opening of the festival on Friday happens at the Utopia Stage at Rock am Ring. There, two much sought-after top acts who dominate the stages of the biggest festivals will perform and open the weekend. However, the acts won't be revealed until the shows start, which, for us, is a very intriguing and unique selling point of the festival. Usually, the lineups are fully announced before the festival opens, yet this makes it a surprise one doesn't want to miss.
Rock am Ring and Rock im Park tickets are selling fast so be sure to get yours if you don't want to miss out on this anniversary special! We're sure looking forward to the surprises ahead and can't wait for this special edition of the two festivals rich of tradition and full of Rock, Alternative and Metal music.

I love to capture little moments in busy streets, but for our magazine, I mostly take editorial, portraits and concerts shots. You can sometime find me reviewing concerts or talking about all and everything during a hot chocolate in interviews with our guests.
