TOBIAS in Hamburg – with Support from MIK

We got the opportunity to cover TOBIAS' show at the Hebebühne in Hamburg, which was part of his very first headline tour. He’s living in Berlin now; however, his Bavarian origins are clearly seen in his music. MIK opened the show for him with a lovely set.

MIK started his set with "Scheiß Zigaretten", then he sang "Fahrerflucht". He explained that the latter is about running away from one's problems. During his set, he also wanted to try out two new songs in front of the audience: "Bumble Friends" and "Hörst Du Mich". The second one is about an important topic: a friend reached out to him as he was struggling, and MIK wasn't sure on what to do. He also added that sometimes the best you can do is to listen. Other songs he sang were "Lauf Lauf Lauf", "Späti" (which is about friendship) and "Sonnenkind" as an unplugged version, which he ended his set with and during which he animated the crowd to sing along!

Now it was time for TOBIAS himself, who started with "es reicht" and then went over to "ein Teil von mir". The latter one is part of his newest EP "eine EP für mich". He made sure to let his audience know that they're good the way they are and that it's okay to make mistakes! Before the tour, he asked his fans what songs he should play on stage, and a song that got mentioned relatively often is the unreleased one "rosarot ". He didn't plan on playing it, but ended up deciding to do so, as he would've felt bad otherwise with many people asking for it. Another unreleased one he sang is "Judy ".

The band with him on stage and him also did a cover of "Du trägst keine Liebe in dir" by Echt, in hopes more people know this songs than the last one. During "siriusstern" he asked the crowd to hold up their phones with the lights on, and a fan kindly organised a fan project for that song, which entailed attendees holding up star cutouts of paper. The one right before the encore was "zwischendrin verliebt", which is the one that finally got him noticed by a bigger mass of people last year! Then, after going off stage and then on stage again, the encore was "ein Lied für mich" and lastly "Bayrische Männer". TOBIAS was very grateful and appreciative the whole time!

Fun fact: the show got live-streamed on Twitch! During the whole gig, the audience was very respectful. They gave MIK a chance, listened calmly and TOBIAS' set was beautifully accompanied by his fans singing and sometimes even clapping along. One fan even gave TOBIAS a drawing they made of him during the set.
